Pictures Galore!

I must admit that I am a sucker when it comes to taking pictures - especially during the fall. I love the scenery and of course I love taking pictures of my kids :) Just between yesterday and today I took almost 150 pictures. So here are just a few.

We just began studying habitats in science. Our first habitat to study was forests, so we talked about trees yesterday. For our science activity we studied the trees in our back yard. The girls drew the leaves and did tree bark rubbings in their science journals.

When we were finished studying the trees and leaves we got a little sidetracked with grasshoppers and the swingset...Today we went to the zoo. Of course, we couldn't pass up the usual photo spots!

The girls took along their science journals to draw some of their favorite plants and animals and classify them according to their habitats. The animals were very active today. I guess they are enjoying this beautiful weather too!

Besides the beautiful animals, we enjoyed the beauty of fall today!

After being at the zoo for several hours we started getting a little goofy. We ended the day with a snack and some silly pictures.

And as we pulled out of the parking lot we saw a sign that winter is just around the corner!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

We met my sister and her kids for an evening of fun. Here's the dressed up cousins!
My 2 SUPERGIRLS
Nate (Jack Frost) and Alli (Twister)
And here's my little brother, Jake, who won 1st place in the costume contest at BooHaHa on Brookside :)
Our evening consisted of visits to all the grandparents, a church carnival, and even some trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We had a really fun, great night except for one little glitch. Zora walked away from her candy bucket and when she went back to retrieve it, it was gone - out of sight :( She was sad, but we assured her that there was still PLENTY of candy to go around. She really cheered up when we got home and there was still a little time to trick-or-treat around our block. Happy Halloween!!!

Pumpkin Paint Party

Wednesday we hosted a pumpkin paint party at our house. Our friends through TIE (our homeschool group) came over and we painted pumpkins and had some fun Halloween snacks! The biggest hit in the snack department was the Kitty Litter Cake...

Yes, it looks & sounds disgusting, but it was delicious! What a fun, grotesque snack :) Some other fun snacks we enjoyed were the Halloween Oreos and some candy that looked like eyes, toes, fingers & lips! How Spooky!

The kids really enjoyed painting and playing together. Here are a few pics of our fun!
And it's always fun to see everyone dressed up in their costumes!

Pleasant Valley Farms

There are so many great pumpkin patches around here that it's really hard to choose which ones to visit. We usually have many trips during this time of year, but we've been so busy and we were gone for a while on vacation, so we just had our first trip to one today.

Our homeschool group went to Pleasant Valley Farms in Sand Springs. It was definitely a hit with the kids :) Of course, the first thing we had to visit was the goat-petting area. My kids never get tired of that (but Mommy says YUCK!)

A nice little hayride

Pumpkin Sisters
We also did a hay maze which the girls thought was fun. I got a really cute pic there, but it's on my phone, so I'll maybe I'll upload it another time...

After a fun visit the girls sat down to relax a little. This picture cracks me up because they look like a couple of old people just shooting the breeze. All they need is a couple of coffee mugs and a newspaper :)
My precious babies :)
